What to Expect in a Live Workshop

Written by Branislav

Every Live Workshop is built around active participation — you're not just following along, you're building, analyzing, discussing, and creating in real time with our instructors and other participants.

This is what sets workshops apart from the rest of our content library. Sessions are custom-designed so that the instructor can engage with attendees, respond to questions, and pace the content in a way that works for the room.

Session Format

Each session follows a consistent structure designed to maximize your time and keep things moving:

  • Intro and context — a quick introduction and the background needed to make the hands-on work meaningful

  • Live demo or build — the core of the session, where you follow along step-by-step, ask questions, and work in real time

  • Wrap-up and Q&A — a summary of key takeaways and open-format questions

Sessions run for 60, 90, or 120 minutes, depending on the topic and depth of content.

Active Participation

Every session includes a hands-on component — something you actually do, complete, or create during the workshop. Examples include:

  • Building an AI agent or custom GPT from scratch

  • Completing an instructor-led analysis using a real dataset

  • Running a collaborative whiteboarding or discussion exercise

This is the difference between a Live Workshop and a passive webinar. You are expected to participate, not just watch.

Topics and Difficulty Levels

Live Workshops focus on high-impact, modern data and AI skills for professionals who need to stay current, multiply their human impact in the age of AI, and apply what they learn immediately.

Sessions cover current, relevant topics — the tools, the features, workflows, and frameworks that matter right now — rather than broad foundational theory. Topics span a wide range of tools and skills, including AI workflows, data visualization, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, and more.

Important: Difficulty levels vary by session. Always check the session description before registering to make sure the content is the right fit for your current skill level.

Exclusive Take-Aways

Whenever possible, sessions include a bonus resource shared exclusively with live attendees — think prompt templates, cheat sheets, practice datasets, or checklists that you can apply directly to your own work.

On-Demand Access

Can't make it live? All recorded sessions are made available on-demand for Maven Pro subscribers after the live date.

Best practice: Attending live gives you something the recording can't — the chance to ask questions, participate in exercises, download exclusive take-aways, and engage with the community in real time.
